Yala Peak Climbing

Yala Peak (5,500 m.) climbing is one of the popular and technically easiest trekking peaks in Langtang region that suit everyone with trekking experience. Yala peak is a part of LangtangHimal and lies just to the north of Kathmandu in the beautiful Langtang valley region of Central Nepal. Yala Peak climbing does not demand mountaineering experience. Yala peak climbing offers the most spectacular and incomparable view of the great Himalayan ranges including the LantangLirung (7,246 m), Dorjelakpa (6,990 m), Ganesh Himal, Naya kanga peak, Gangchempo (6,388 m.), Shishapangma(8,027 m) in Langtang region. The peak being very close to the Kathmandu valley is one of the most easily accessible climbing peaks in Nepal.

To reach Yala Peak we first reach Syabrubesi after a 5 hour drive from Kathmandu and nearly a week trekking through the beautiful Langtang region passing the valleys, reaching several villages one by one through emerald hills, and forests to reach KyangjingGompa at (3,800 m.). This ideologically artistic KyanjinGompa is situated below LangtangLirung (7,246 m). Here we spend three days acclimatizing ourself and exploring the Langshisa glacier in awe - inspiring vicinity of the spectacular region. We climb a little further and establish base camp on a meadow at (4,800 m.). From this high camp we attempt to the summit of Yala Peak. During the climbing hours the last 400 meter climb is through the snowy steep route so we use climbing tools like crampons, ice axe and rope up to the summit. The summit of the peak offers Close up view of Shishapangma (8046 m) and the fluted Gangchempo (6,388 m.) that makes your climb worthwhile. After the climb we return via Gosainkunda pass in Helambu. Or via Dhunche we return back to Syabrubesi and drive back to Kathmandu.
