Everest Panorama Mountain Flight

AMIS HIMALAYA ADVENTUTRE doesnt include a mountain flight in your tour package as not all clients are interested. We are happy to arrange a mountain flight for you at a comparable price as other agencies offer, and additionally we will provide our clients free transportation to and from the airport, and airport tax included.

Airlines operate daily one hour mountain flights from Kathmandu, within camera shutter range of the worlds highest peaks. The one hour long trip offers passengers a close-up view of Everest, as well as other giants. First, to their far left, visitors see Gosaithan, also called Shisha Pangma, standing at the majestic height of 8013 m. Immediately to the right of Gosaithan, appears Dorje Lakpa 6966 m, a mountain that looks like a figure 8 lying down and covered with snow. To the right of Dorje Lakpa is Phurbi-Ghyachu, which looms over the Kathmandu Valley.

Next to come into view is Choba-Bharnare, the smallest one of the lot at 5933m, but as it is a holy mountain of Nepal, it has never been climbed. Then you will see another holy mountain, Gauri Shanker, 7134m which is very sharp and very conspicuous in appearance. Lord Shiva and his consort Gauri are said to protect this mountain, and until 1979 there is a history of many unsuccessful attempts to the summit. As a result, and in respect to the power of the gods, the mountain is out of bounds.

As the plane continues to move eastward over the Himalayas, you will see the plateau-like Melungtse, stretching up to7023m, and the unclimbed virgin mountain, Chugimago, 6297m, still waiting to be climbed. Next is Karyolung, an intensely white mountain of 6511m, glowing in the colors of the rising sun. Cho-Oyu is the eighth highest mountain in the world, at a height of 8201m it appears stunningly beautiful from the aircraft.

Finally, we see the tallest mountain in the world, the 8848m magnificent Mount Everest, or Sagarmatha as it is called in Nepali. Even as you are flying in a plane you will have to look up to its mighty face, and you will feel surely feel small. From here, the plane circles back toward Kathmandu, and you will get to enjoy the same awesome views all over again.

Season for Mountain Flights

Though mountain flights are enjoyed by thousands all year through the year, we strongly recommend the months of February, March, April, October and November, as the prime times to enjoy the mountain flights.
